Nicholas Frenette / Artist & Illustrator
Born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1988, Nicholas Frenette knew at a very young age that he was attracted to the visual arts. His need to create and invent through drawings started early. It is during his high school years that he decided to find out what could be accomplished by letting his creative side express itself.
“I have always enjoyed bringing new ideas to realization. Now it has become a necessity to make my creativity evolve and find out what I define as a perfect style for myself and for others to enjoy.”
The New Brunswick Arts Board awarded Nicholas a scholarship to encourage him to continue his efforts. He also received a scholarship from the Bank of Montreal in recognition of high achievement and contribution to NSCAD University.
In 2006, Nicholas enrolled in a Fine Arts program at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Although he enjoyed his time there, he is currently continuing his degree at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In the summer of 2006, he started showing his artwork publicly through exhibits. He also received an honorable mention for his artwork titled Church Musician from the Moncton Art Society. Several of his creations were sold and are now owned by private collectors and art patrons.
In the summer of 2008, Nicholas was employed by Bioko to work as a Face painter at the Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton, New Brunswick. Through this experience Nicholas has created his own internet based face painting company, which he operates out of Vancouver.
Nicholas enjoys sharing his art with the public and wishes to continue his journey by expressing his ideas for others to observe and imagine.
